Terms and Conditions

Effective date: 17.08.2026
Last updated: 17.08.2026

These Terms and Conditions apply to psychological counseling, psychotherapy, and related services provided by Anastasia Taisumova (“Psychologist”, “Therapist”) to the person receiving the services (“Client”).

By booking an appointment and/or attending a session, you confirm that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and agree to them.

1. Nature and Purpose of the Services

I provide psychological counseling and psychotherapy services, including individual psychotherapy, couples therapy and psychological support for children and adolescents, in accordance with my professional qualifications, applicable professional standards and the laws applicable to my practice.

The purpose of therapy is to support the Client in addressing psychological, emotional, relational or other difficulties, developing coping strategies, improving psychological well-being and working towards mutually agreed therapeutic goals.

Psychotherapy is a collaborative process. The outcome of therapy cannot be guaranteed, and the pace and results of treatment vary from person to person.

The services provided are not a substitute for emergency medical or psychiatric care.

2. Initial Consultation and Assessment

The initial session may include an assessment of the Client's current concerns, relevant personal history, needs, expectations, and therapeutic goals.

After the initial assessment, I may recommend a particular therapeutic approach, session frequency, consultation with another professional, or a different type of service that better meets the Client's needs.

I reserve the right not to commence or continue therapy where I reasonably consider that the Client's needs fall outside my professional competence or that another service or specialist would be more appropriate.

3. Appointments

Appointments are arranged in advance and are reserved specifically for the Client.

Sessions may take place:

  • in person at the agreed practice location;

  • online using the agreed secure or appropriate communication platform; or

  • in another format expressly agreed in advance.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that they are in a private and appropriate environment for an online session and have a sufficiently stable internet connection.

The Client should provide accurate contact information and notify me of any changes that may affect communication or appointment arrangements.

4. Session Duration

The duration of each session is determined by the service booked and agreed in advance.

The session begins at the scheduled appointment time. If the Client arrives late, the session will generally still end at the originally scheduled time.

If I cause a delay, the session will, where reasonably possible, be extended or otherwise adjusted accordingly.

5. Fees and Payment

The current fees for my services are published on the website or communicated to the Client before the appointment is confirmed.

Payment is due according to the payment method and payment terms communicated at the time of booking.

The Client is responsible for ensuring that payment is made in full and on time.

Where payment is outstanding, I may suspend further appointments until the outstanding balance has been settled.

Any applicable fees, taxes or other charges will be communicated to the Client where relevant.

6. Cancellation and Rescheduling Policy

Appointments are reserved exclusively for the Client.

If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice.

Cancellation with more than 48 hours' notice

You may cancel or reschedule the appointment without a cancellation fee.

Cancellation with less than 48 hours' notice

If an appointment is canceled or rescheduled less than 48 hours before the scheduled start time, the full session fee may be charged.

Failure to attend

If the Client does not attend the scheduled appointment and has not provided appropriate notice, the full session fee may be charged.

The same policy applies to online appointments if the Client is unavailable or does not join the session at the agreed time.

In exceptional circumstances, such as a sudden serious illness, accident or other circumstances genuinely beyond the Client's reasonable control, I may waive or reduce the cancellation fee at my discretion.

Repeated late cancellations or missed appointments may result in termination of the therapeutic relationship.

7. Therapist Cancellation

If I need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, I will provide as much notice as reasonably possible.

If I cancel an appointment, the Client will not be charged for that appointment. Where possible, I will offer an alternative appointment time.

8. Communication Between Sessions

Routine communication between sessions should be limited to practical matters such as scheduling, payment and other administrative issues.

Email, text messaging and other forms of electronic communication are not substitutes for a therapy session.

I do not provide continuous or 24-hour psychological support through messaging.

If you require urgent psychological or medical assistance, please contact an appropriate emergency or crisis service rather than waiting for my response.

9. Confidentiality

Confidentiality is a fundamental part of psychological and psychotherapeutic work.

Information shared during therapy will be treated as confidential and handled in accordance with applicable professional and legal requirements.

Confidentiality may be limited where disclosure is required or permitted by law, including circumstances involving a serious and immediate risk of harm to the Client or another person, safeguarding concerns, a lawful request or other circumstances prescribed by applicable legislation.

Where legally and professionally appropriate, I will discuss relevant confidentiality limitations with the Client.

10. Professional Boundaries

The therapeutic relationship is a professional relationship.

I maintain appropriate professional boundaries and do not enter into personal, financial, social or other relationships with Clients that could compromise professional judgment or the therapeutic process.

Clients are encouraged to discuss any concerns regarding boundaries, the therapeutic relationship or the therapeutic process openly during sessions.

11. Records and Documentation

I may maintain professional records relating to the provision of psychological services where required or appropriate for professional, legal, ethical or clinical purposes.

Records may include information necessary for assessment, treatment planning, session documentation, professional communication, and continuity of care.

Records are stored securely and accessed only by persons who are authorized to access them.

The retention period for records is determined in accordance with the legal and professional requirements applicable to the services provided.

Where applicable, Clients may have rights to access and correct their personal data and records. These rights are subject to applicable legal exceptions and limitations.

12. Personal Data and Privacy

Personal data are processed in accordance with applicable data-protection legislation, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable Czech legislation.

Information concerning a person's psychological or physical health may constitute special-category personal data and is therefore handled with appropriate safeguards.

For detailed information about:

  • what personal data are collected;

  • the purposes and legal bases for processing;

  • data retention;

  • data processors and third parties;

  • international data transfers;

  • your data-protection rights; and

  • how to exercise those rights,

please refer to the Privacy Policy / Personal Data Processing Information available on this website.

13. Online Therapy

Online therapy requires the Client to have access to an appropriate device, internet connection and private environment.

Although reasonable measures are taken to protect confidentiality, electronic communication and online platforms involve inherent technological risks.

The Client is responsible for taking reasonable steps to protect their privacy during an online session, including using a private room, headphones where appropriate, and a secure internet connection.

Sessions should not be recorded, photographed or otherwise captured by either party without prior explicit agreement.

14. Children and Adolescents

Where psychological services are provided to a child or adolescent, arrangements for consent, parental involvement, confidentiality, and communication with parents or legal representatives will be determined in accordance with applicable law, the child's developmental level, and professional standards.

The specific confidentiality arrangements will be discussed with the relevant parent(s), legal representative(s) and, where appropriate, the child or adolescent at the beginning of the therapeutic process.

15. Couples Therapy

In couples therapy, both partners are considered Clients of the therapeutic process.

We will discuss confidentiality and communication arrangements at the beginning of therapy.

Information disclosed individually outside a joint session may be subject to specific confidentiality arrangements, which I will explain and we will agree to as part of the therapeutic framework.

16. Emergency and Crisis Situations

I do not provide a 24-hour emergency or crisis service.

I may not be immediately available outside scheduled sessions and cannot guarantee an immediate response to emails, messages, or calls.

If you are experiencing an acute psychological crisis, are at immediate risk of harming yourself or another person, or require urgent medical assistance, please contact the appropriate emergency medical or crisis services in your location.

If I determine that the level of risk or complexity of a Client's condition requires a service outside my professional competence or available resources, I may recommend referral to an appropriate medical, psychiatric or other specialist service.

17. Treatment Planning and Termination

I review therapy periodically to assess whether the current approach continues to meet the Client's needs.

The Client may choose to end therapy at any time.

Where appropriate, I encourage Clients to discuss termination in advance so that the therapeutic work can be concluded safely and meaningfully.

I may recommend or initiate termination or referral where:

  • the Client's needs fall outside my professional competence;

  • another type of treatment or specialist care is more appropriate;

  • the therapeutic framework is no longer clinically appropriate;

  • there are persistent breaches of professional or practical boundaries;

  • there are repeated missed appointments or late cancellations;

  • fees remain unpaid; or

  • continuing the therapeutic relationship would not be professionally appropriate.

Where reasonably possible, termination will be discussed with the Client and appropriate referral options may be recommended.

18. Professional Conduct and Client Responsibilities

Clients are expected to participate in therapy respectfully and to communicate openly about relevant concerns affecting the therapeutic process.

Aggressive, threatening, abusive, or discriminatory behavior towards the Psychologist or other persons at the practice is not acceptable.

I reserve the right to end a session or terminate services where behavior creates a safety concern or makes continued professional work inappropriate.

19. Complaints and Concerns

If you have concerns about any aspect of the services provided, I encourage you to raise them directly with me so that we can attempt to resolve the matter constructively.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions limits any statutory rights available to the Client under applicable law.

20. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, to the extent applicable to the services provided.

Nothing in these Terms and Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any mandatory rights or protections available to the Client under applicable consumer or other legislation.

21. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

I may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time to reflect changes in my services, professional practice or applicable legal requirements.

I will publish the current version on this website.

If a change materially affects an existing Client's therapeutic relationship or contractual arrangements, I will inform the Client where appropriate.
